Textbook Rebate Terms and Conditions


1. Eligibility.

All students currently enrolled in an Australian TAFE or university are eligible to apply.
Students may be at any level and studying full or part-time.
Applicants must be current members of StudentVIP.com.au at the time of the application and until the time of the random draw on April 15, 2010.
Applying and joining StudentVIP can be completed at the same time.
 

2. The fund.

The fund consists of 250 rebates of $200 each, totalling $50,000.
Only one rebate can be awarded to an individual, except in the case where an applicant has participated in the "tell-a-friend" feature in the application process, in which case a maximum of one additional application is made on behalf of that applicant.
No applicant can be awarded more than two rebates.

3. Open and close dates.

Applications open from Midday AEST January 15, 2010 and close at midnight AEST on April 14, 2010.

4. Application process.

There is no cost to apply.
Applications can only be made via the form on textbookrebate.com.au or www.studentvip.com.au/textbookrebate.
The application form must be completed correctly and in full.
The application process includes successfully completing the email verification process.
If the email verification link is not successfully clicked, the application is invalid.
The application process includes joining studentvip.com.au and agreeing to its terms and conditions which can be viewed here.
Applicants who have completed the application process will be sent a confirmation email.

5. Internet communication.

The promoter takes no responsibility for third party software and internet communication systems outside it's control that may affect the delivery of emails sent from the site.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure emails are received and acted on.
The site publishes a technical assistance contact on the FAQ page.
Important emails include: the "email verification" email, the "confirmed entry" email and the "announcement of successful applicants" email.
By logging into the site, applicants should be able to confirm whether these emails have been sent.

6. Determination of successful applicants.

Successful applicants will be selected by random draw at 12pm AEST on April 15, 2010 at the offices of Student Services Australia (SSA), Level 1, 62-64 Riley Street, East Sydney NSW 2010.
Successful applicants will be notified by email and their names (First initial, Surname, University) will be published on both textbookrebate.com.au and www.studentvip.com.au/textbookrebate, by 6pm AEST April 15, 2010, or at the promoter's discretion.

7. Redemption process.

Successful applicants will have until last mail October 15, 2010 to claim their rebate.
Rebates not claimed by that date in the proscribed manner will be forfeited.
Rebates may only be redeemed by the following process:
1. Successful applicants will be emailed a redemption form.

2. The redemption form is to be printed and completed.
3. The redemption form and a photocopy of eligible receipts is to be mailed to the address detailed on the redemption form.
Cheques for the rebate amount will then be sent to the successful applicant within 10 working days.
Applicants who do not receive their cheque within 10 working days are to contact the promoter via the email on the redemption from.
Rebate cheques must be banked within 30 days of issue. Unbanked cheques will be cancelled and go into the Redraw process (see 8.)

8. Redraw.

A redraw will take place on October 16, 2010, at 5pm for any unclaimed rebates. This redraw will take place at Student Services Australia, Level 1, 62-64  Riley Street, Darlinghurst, NSW 2010.  Successful applicants will have until last mail January 16 2011 to claim their rebate.
Rebates may only be redeemed by the following process:
1. Successful applicants will be emailed a redemption form.
2. Print this and complete the required fields.  The redemption form is to be printed and completed.
3. The redemption form and a photocopy of eligible receipts is to be mailed to the address detailed on the redemption form.
Cheques for the rebate amount will then be sent to the successful applicant within 10 working days.
Applicants who do not receive their cheque within 10 working days are to contact the promoter via the email on the redemption form.
Rebate cheques must be banked within 30 days of issue. Rebate cheques left unbanked and expire will not be redrawn.
Any unclaimed rebates will be added to the 2011 fund to be drawn on April 15, 2011.

9. Eligible receipts.

Valid receipts must be from an on-campus bookseller only.
They must be receipts for purchases of new textbooks or course materials by the successful applicant. Receipts must be for the purchase of new textbooks or course materials that have been prescribed by the university.. Receipts may be from separate transactions and purchase dates. A receipt can only be used for a claim once.
Receipts must add to a minimum total of $200 to be eligible for the $200 rebate.
Where the total is less than $200, that value will be the rebate value.
Rebates are not transferable or exchangeable.

10. No correspondence.

The decision of the promoters in relation to any aspect of the fund will be final and binding upon every person who applies for the fund. No correspondence will be entered into.

11. The promoter.

The sole promoter is Student Services Australia Pty Ltd, ACN 100 372 156,  Level 1, 62-64 Riley Street, East Sydney NSW 2010.
Full time employees of the promoter and their families are ineligible to apply to the fund.
